Electric filters type FEKV
Electric filters of the FEKV type are designed to purify air from aerosols of solid and liquid substances, including oil mist and welding smoke in supply and exhaust ventilation systems. In some cases, purified air can be used for recirculation.

Due to their design features, the filters have a higher filtration speed and operational reliability in comparison with electrostatic precipitators from other companies. The filters are operational and retain their technical characteristics at an ambient temperature of at least +5 degrees. The maximum temperature of the purified air should be 20 degrees below the flash point of the captured liquid and should not exceed 80 degrees. The maximum concentration of aerosol in the purified air should not exceed 300 mg/m3. The environment and the air being purified must not be explosive or contain aggressive gases and vapors.

The filters’ own power consumption is 15-20 W per 1000 m3/h of purified air. The filter parameters were determined according to the “Guide to the testing and evaluation of air filters for supply ventilation and air conditioning systems” / M. Stroyizdat, 1979.
General structure and operation of electric air filters (FEAF)
The filters consist of a metal housing, which houses the cells of an electric filter of the YaEF type, and a power source. Filters with index “A” are equipped with an automatic washing device. The filter cells are supplied with a constant high voltage of 12 and 6 kV from the power source. The power source is connected to a regular 220 V, 50 Hz network.
Air purification is carried out in the cells of an electric filter due to the preliminary charging of aerosols in the ionization zone, to which a voltage of 12 kV is applied, and the subsequent capture of charged aerosol particles in the deposition zone. The deposition zone of the filter cell is a set of flat parallel plates between which the cleaned air passes. A voltage of 6 kV is applied to one part of the plates, and the other part of the plates is grounded. Aerosols contained in the purified air are charged in the ionization zone and then, due to Coulomb forces, are attracted and deposited on the plates of the deposition zone.
When capturing liquid aerosols, they flow by gravity from the plates of the deposition zone into the filter pan and are removed from it through a water seal. Collected solid aerosols accumulate on the plates and are removed during regeneration, the frequency of which depends on the operating conditions of the filter. Regeneration of filters is carried out by washing the cells removed from the housing in a bath of water, and for filters with the “A” index – by turning on the washing device.
The filters are equipped with a light-signal lamp and have automatic locking of the doors of the cells through which access to the current-carrying elements of the filter is provided. When this door is opened, the high voltage source is automatically turned off, and the current-carrying parts of the cells are grounded by a mechanical discharge device that is connected to the filter housing.
