FYAK type filters are designed to remove dust from outside and recirculated air in supply ventilation and air conditioning systems.

General structure of cell pocket filters (FYaK)

The filters consist of a metal frame and filter material sewn in the form of pockets. The opposite surfaces of the pockets are tightened with limiters, which prevents strong swelling and sticking together of adjacent pockets. To fix the location of the pockets under the pressure of the air flow, they are connected to each other using tape.

Filter class FyaK according to GOST R 51251-99, EN 779 (Evrovent 4/9) Nominal specific air load m3/h.m2 inlet section area Aerodynamic resistance, Pa Cleaning efficiency, %
Initial Recommended final
G3 (EU3) 10000-11400 20÷40 250 56
G4 (EU4) 10000-11400 40÷60 250 66
F5(EU5) 10000-11400 60÷70 450 75
F6(EU6) 10000-11400 80÷90 450 85
F7(EU7) 10000-11400 90÷110 450 92
F8/9(EU8/9) 10000-11400 120÷140 450 98

The nominal filter performance is determined by the formula:

Q = F in x q H , m 3 / h,

where Fin is the filter inlet cross-sectional area, m 2 (for standard sizes, see Table 2; for non-standard sizes – the product of width and height);
n – nominal specific air load, m 3 /h.m 2 of the inlet cross-sectional area (Table 1).

The filter parameters were determined in accordance with GOST R 51251 – 99 and “Guidelines for testing and evaluation of air filters for supply ventilation and air conditioning systems”/M. Stroyizdat, 1979.
The filters are operational and retain their technical characteristics at purified air temperatures from -400C to +700C.
The environment and filtered air must not contain aggressive gases and vapors.

Example of a symbol:

Decoding: FyaK 3362

  • 3 – filter class G3;
  • 3 – pocket length – 300mm;
  • 6 – number of pockets – 6 pcs;
  • 2 – overall dimensions of the water section 592 x 592 mm (width x height).

Table 2 shows the main standard sizes and parameters of pocket filters.

Filters can be installed upon request:

  • other overall dimensions along the inlet section;
  • different length of pockets;
  • different number of pockets.

An example of a symbol for filters of non-standard sizes:

Explanation: FyaK F5 535x732x360-5

  • F5 – filter class;
  • 535×732 – overall dimensions (width x height) of the inlet section, mm;
  • 360 – length of pockets mm;
  • 5 – number of pockets, pcs.

Maintenance of cell pocket filters (FYaK)

During the operation of filters, their aerodynamic resistance should be monitored according to the readings of a pressure gauge connected to fittings located in the walls of the air purification chambers before and after the filters. When the pressure drop reaches the value specified in the project, or based on the available pressure in the ventilation system, it is necessary to replace the filters.
